If you are planning to go out trout fishing for the first time, you might find it difficult where to position yourself. I am referring to the person who prefers to really step into the water or wait somewhere near the water for trout fishing and not the person who would want to do fly fishing. If you plan to go trout fishing alone, then a helpful tip would be for you to go near a tree, or near the grasses since this is a place where the trouts like to get their food. If you are in a calmer body of water such as a lake or a pond, then you would have to be more strategic in luring your trout. If you are in a river, then it would be easier for you to catch your fishes here. One thing to remember when you are out for trout fishing the first time is that you really need to be patient.
Listening Vs. Reading – is It the Same?
Since about 2005 when online audio books started to become really popular, the question arises is this a good thing. When we listen, do we get as much out of the book as reading it? And will reading skills be hurt by this trend?
According to Forbes, 37 percent of us say we have listened to an audio book. With the growth of iPods and iPads, that number will surely grow rapidly in the near future.
True research on the matter is still under developed, but we do know some things. First, according to the Audio Publishers Association, people who listen to audio books read and buy more books than people who don’t listen to audiobooks. While it might just be that avid readers decide to listen to audio books, it certainly doesn’t hurt the case that audio books work for readers.
On a more intellectual front, studies have found a strong correlation between listening comprehension and reading comprehension. This is particularly important for young readers who can listen to more advanced books than they are able to read.
In any case, we know books are good for us and anything that increases book consumption must be a good thing.
